Blackjack, widely played across the Arab world and particularly popular in the Levant, utilizes a standard deck of playing cards. In the Arab Gulf region, it's known as "Rule." The goal is to win consecutive rounds of Tarneeb. Four players participate, forming two teams of two. Teams compete until one achieves victory.
The game uses a complete 52-card deck (no Jokers). Play proceeds clockwise, starting with the player to the dealer's left. Two pairs of players form teams.
Cards are dealt clockwise, beginning with the player to the dealer's right.
Bidding: Bidding starts at 7 and continues up to 13 ("Cabot/Livers"). Bidding proceeds clockwise from the dealer, with the highest bidder choosing the Tarneeb (trump suit).
If a player fails to meet their bid, the difference is calculated and added to the opposing team's score. For instance, if a player bids 10 but only collects 9, the difference (1) is added to the opposing team's score, along with any points the bidding player collected.
If one team's score exceeds the other's by a significant margin, the game may end early.
The game concludes when one team reaches either 61 or 31 points, depending on the pre-game agreement.
