Despite the cancellation of the planned live-action Driver TV series, Ubisoft assures fans that other Driver franchise projects are actively under development. Here's what we know.
Live-Action ‘Driver’ Series Cancelled
Ubisoft Remains Committed to the Driver Franchise
Ubisoft has officially confirmed to Game File that the live-action Driver television series is no longer in production. Initially announced in 2021 for exclusive streaming on Binge.com, the project was part of Ubisoft's broader strategy to expand its gaming IPs into other media. As Ubisoft Film & Television head Danielle Kreinik previously stated, the goal was "to bring our games to life in new and exciting ways."
The collaboration ended due to the closure of Hotrod Tanner LLC, a movie-related subsidiary named after the Driver protagonist, in January. A Ubisoft spokesperson stated to Game File, "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series."
However, Ubisoft has confirmed it remains actively developing "other exciting projects related to the franchise." Specific details about these new projects are currently unavailable, but the company promises further announcements in the future. Stay tuned for more Driver news!
