Netflix Games welcomes the soon-to-be-released Thirsty Suitors, a unique breakup simulator unlike any other dating sim. Currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, this narrative-driven action-adventure game will soon be playable on Netflix Games for mobile devices.
Thirsty Suitors blends turn-based RPG combat with skateboarding and cooking, offering a fresh take on the genre. Players battle exes, navigate family relationships, and explore themes of culture and self-discovery within a 1990s setting. A mood system in combat adds a strategic layer, exploiting enemy weaknesses. The game also features South Asian-inspired cooking mini-games designed to impress the player's mother and mend their relationship. Skateboarding through the town of Timber Hills, performing tricks and uncovering the mysteries of Bearfoot Park, adds another dimension to the gameplay.
The game's creator, Chandana "Eka" Ekanayake of Outerloop Games, will participate in a Games for Change Festival panel on June 27th and 28th in New York, discussing representation in video games. This panel also features Matt Korba and Matt Daigle (The Odd Gentlemen), Caitlin Shell (Brandible Games), and Leanne Loombe (Netflix).
